Backpacking to Lake Constantine
Those of you that know me would probably consider me to be a generally more private person. Not surprisingly, this predisposition can make blogging challenging at times. However, I created JoieWorks with the intention of applying my creativity in a professional setting, and I have found that often the best way to do this is to showcase creative examples from my everyday life and travels. These everyday examples can include my graphic designs, photography, writing, artwork, hobbies, adventures, and so on. In an effort to showcase my capabilities and my personal and professional interests (which are often one in the same), I would like to start sharing some of these stories with you here, at the home of JoieWorks.
This brings me to my first #JoieWorksAdventures post, Backpacking to Lake Constantine.
This past weekend, I set out with a group of friends into the higher altitudes of the Colorado Rockies to reach beautiful Lake Constantine. With nothing on our backs but the essentials, we hiked up to 12,000 feet of stunning scenery, cascading waterfalls and the magnificent lake herself. Here are some photos of our adventures on the trail.
Here is beautiful Lake Constantine first by afternoon when we arrived and also by morning, gracing us with magical light at both times of day.
After reaching the lake and setting up camp, we set out to do some 'splorin. Here we found some waterfalls, lush scenery and a magnificent view of Mt. Holy Cross at a whopping 14,009 feet above sea level.
Naturally, I had to stop and pick some of the stunning wildflowers. Seeing all these amazing wildflowers is one of my favorite parts of venturing into the wilderness, and we were lucky enough to encounter them at the peak of the season.
Behold, the face of a very good boy who is equally as happy as he is dirty!
And yes, he loves to hang in the hammock!
Finished off the weekend by indulging in another bouquet of these amazing wildflowers for the road. How could I resist?
